Chateau Troplong Mondot sold to French reinsurer, SCOR group

Chateau Troplong Mondot has been sold to French reinsurance company SCOR Group, the 4th largest reinsurer in the world.

Chateau Troplong Mondot was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2006. The 33-hectare vineyard surrounds the chateau and cellars and is situated at one of the highest points of the appellation at over 100 metres. It is planted with 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. The property had been owned by the Valette family since 1936 and was latterly managed by Christine Valette and her husband, Xavier Pariente.
