Chateau Berliquet acquired by the Wertheimer family

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé estate Chateau Berliquet has been acquired by the Wertheimer family, owners of Maison Chanel.

Founded in 1768, Chateau Berliquet is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Emilion. The 9-hectare vineyard is located on the plateau and south-facing slopes to the west of the village of Saint-Emilion and is planted with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate was previously owned by Jerome and Patrick de Lesquen.

The Wertheimer family also own  neighboring Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé, Chateau Canon, as well as 1855 Grand Cru Classé Chateau Rauzan-Segla in Margaux. In 2011 Chateau Canon acquired another Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, Chateau Matras.
