Chateau Phelan Segur sold to Belgian owner of Sea-Invest, Philippe Van de Vyvere

Chateau Phelan Segur in Saint-Estèphe has been sold to Philippe Van de Vyvere, the Belgian founder and owner of shipping company Sea-Invest.

The estate was sold by the Gardinier family, owners since 1984, who also own the Domane les Crayeres hotel and restaurant in Reims and the Taillevent restaurant group.

The estate has 70 hectares of vines located in four main blocks around the appellation, planted with 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 1.5% of both Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
