Chateau Cantenac Brown sold to the Le Lous family

Margaux third growth estate Château Cantenac Brown has been sold to the Le Lous family, owners of the Urgo Group.

Château Cantenac Brown owns approximately 90 hectares of land including 48 hectares of vines in the Margaux appellation and was classified as a third growth in the 1855 classification. It was purchased by the UK property developer Simon Halabi from AXA Millesimes in 2006. The estate’s Director, José Sanfins, has worked at the property since 1989.

The Le Lous family have owned the URGO Group since 1940. The company is a leading international healthcare group specialized in advanced wound care, employing more than 3,000 people in 22 countries. Tristan Le Lous, an agricultural engineer, will supervise the family’s new acquisition.
